Premier Real Estate Schools, formerly known as Southport Real Estate Academy, has a saying, “We teach real estate the right way, with no brokers left behind.” Our students walk away ahead of the rest!

Mission Statement

Premier Real Estate Schools is passionate about real estate! We educate and train the people of our community to assist our family, friends and neighbors with their most important purchase, a place to call home! We believe success starts with preparation. Premier Real Estate Schools produces agents that are to be assets not only to their firms but also to their communities. Our continuing education programs provide growth with our custom tools, tips, and industry techniques! Our instructors ARE practicing agents who will keep you informed with “local” market changes, using ‘real world’ applications and modern education resource materials. We aim to keep our student’s expertise sharpened by listening not lecturing! Theresa Lobdell- Instructor

Theresa Lobdell is a licensed real estate instructor and broker with over 27 years of experience in the industry. She has taught thousands of students how to successfully start their careers as real estate professionals. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with aspiring agents and brokers, and she strives to make her classes engaging, interactive, and fun. Theresa is a commercial and residential Realtor and owns successful real estate company that operates in the Triangle, NC Coast and South Carolina.

Theresa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and has completed courses on Real Estate Management, Commercial Real Estate Accounting and Real Estate Financial Calculations. She took the Real Estate Appraisal Licensing course and passed the licensure exam to understand how to evaluate properties and maximize their return. Her education, along with many years of real estate experience, has helped her develop a creative, problem solving, and analytical mind.

Jackie Headley, MBA-FP, CSM- Instructor

Jackie Headley, MBA-FP, CSM, is a seasoned professional with a deep-rooted commitment to the real estate industry. With her extensive experience as a licensed real estate broker since 2005 and a licensed real estate instructor, she has dedicated nearly two decades to this field.

Jackie’s career journey began as a Financial Advisor, where her exceptional client care and support cultivated a loyal clientele. Discovering her passion for teaching, she transitioned into the role of an educator.

In her current role as an adjunct instructor, and an entrepreneur, she imparts her wealth of knowledge to aspiring real estate professionals in pre-licensing courses. Her strong dedication to education, combined with practical industry experience, positions her as a valuable asset in shaping the next generation of real estate agents.

Jackie’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She furthered her education by earning an MBA in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University. Additionally, she is a license Insurance Agent, and a Certified Notary Public, offering a comprehensive understanding of both the financial and real estate sectors to her work.

Melissa McGhee, Instructor

A seasoned real estate agent with a thriving five-year tenure in Brunswick County, brings a unique blend of expertise and dedication to the industry.

Before venturing into real estate, Melissa spent 17 years in the public school system, immersed in the world of education. Her classroom experience coupled with her strong leadership skills as an instructional coach for teachers allowed her to develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, which she seamlessly transitioned into her real estate career.

Melissa’s journey from education to real estate showcases her adaptability, strong work ethic, and passion for helping others navigate significant life transitions.

Her real estate students benefit not only from her real estate expertise but also from the wealth of skills cultivated through years of shaping young minds and fostering collaborative environments in the public school system.
